OpTic send FaZe packing at ESL One New York

OpTic managed a convincing 2-0 victory over FaZe at ESL One New York (16-11 Nuke, 16-8 Dust2), moving on to the decider match of group B.
FaZe secured a 3-1 start on Nuke, OpTic's map pick, but the Danes were able to find a footing soon. After winning one round, René "TeSeS" Madsen cleaned up the anti-eco with an ace, while Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke and Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen clutched a 2v4 that saw their team take the lead. Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and Marcelo "coldzera" David combined to equalize the score, but OpTic picked up the pace and finished the half on a high, 9-6.
The momentum continued into the second half as OpTic won the pistol and extended their lead to 14-6 following 1v2 and 1v1 clutches from niko and k0nfig. FaZe held on for a while thanks in part to some heroics from Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer, but Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen repeatedly winning the Yard fight over NiKo saw the Danes close out the map, 16-11.

Dust2 kicked off with FaZe taking a 3-1 lead following a force-buy win in the second round, but OpTic looked like the better team from their first rifle round. MSL was again causing issues with the AWP and OpTic built a 6-3 lead. A push towards B worked out for FaZe and started their run of three rounds, but René "cajunb" Borg's lock-down of a B-split got OpTic back on track as they finished the half 9-6 up.
FaZe found themselves in a tough situation as OpTic won the second-half pistol as well and extended their lead further, 12-6, making the first buy a must win for the European side. At that moment, NiKo and olofmeister combined for five frags to keep their team in the game, taking the round despite losing the entry. FaZe brought it back to 12-8, but losing four players in an eco ahead of a round loss resulted in their economy being in a tough position for the final part of Dust2. OpTic utilized that and closed out the game 16-8 to eliminate FaZe from the tournament.
